Does anyone know anywhere online where I could buy a Douay-Rheims Bible that is cheap (less than $35) and includes the deuterocanonical books? I am looking specifically for this version.

Thanks for your help!

I just got 13 hits on ebay when I searched “Douay-Rheims Bible”

Good Luck,
Davis

You can get a Douay Rheims Bible for $35.00 from the Saint Francis DeSales bookstore. It is a paperback version, anything hardcover will run you about $55.00. Their website is stfrancisdesales.com or if you prefer to phone 1-800-364-1455.
👍

This is actually for a friend. We’ve both done a lot of searching on the internet and the cheapest one we found was $35. I was hoping for something less expensive than that.

Just a note: The Douay-Rheims Bible is a Catholic translation. I wouldn’t think that there would be any editions of the Douay-Rheims Bible that exclude the deuterocanonical books.

Good luck!

Tan Publishers also carry the DR bible. Last I looked, their paperback was $35 and the hard back was $45. And I think that the Leaflet Missal catalog also carries it now. My “original” DR came off the internet. I think it was through Amazon.com. It had a place where you could request the “item” you desired, the condition you were willing to accept it in, and the price you were willing to pay. Problem is, you have to have a credit card. I asked for one in “acceptable” condition, only to get one that was what I would consider in poor condition. It was without covers! 😦

I just purchased one from Amazon. They were out of stock of the paperback, but offered one used for $30. I bought it…anxious to get it.

You can try:

Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima
1-866-513-1917

They have a paperback DR version for $35 (+ $5 shipping)

Good luck!

I’ll just say I got a hardbound DRV (published by Loreto) brand new for $30 on Ebay some time ago. Very happy with that investment! 😃

Try the SSPX @ www.sspx.org and keep your money in the " Catholic " family, while earning graces for yourself and others .🙂

They’re pretty hard to find, especially at cheap prices! I have two (one for home, one for the office). One I paid about $35 for at a specialized religious used book store. The second I found at a local used book store for only $4!

Generally speaking, you can find better bargains on used books if you look in the unlikely places. That is, a store that DOESN’T specialize in religion at all – but check their religion section!

Good luck –

Naprous

If you also check at local book fairs, library sales and the Brandeis book tents, you can usually find most anything mighty cheap. I’ve bought 1st edition Victor Hugo novels for $10.
