Help! Did I fulfill the Sunday obligation for Pentecost?

I just went to my church’s 5:30 p.m. Mass tonight (Saturday) which is our Mass time on Saturday for Sunday, and they read the readings for Pentecost Vigil instead of Sunday’s Pentecost readings. I’m going out of town early tomorrow morning and need to know if this still fulfills the Sunday Mass obligation. Please let me know!!!

And the readings have nothing to do with fulfilling your obligation. The obligation is to attend Mass without any condition on what the readings for a particular Sunday or Holiday is.

Yes, Saturday vigil Masses—after 4:00—fulfill the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation. I usually attend the vigil Masses, but this weekend I’m the lector at 7:00 Mass on Sunday, so I didn’t go.

There is an option for the Pentecost Vigil Mass to have six readings (four OT, one Romans reading, and the Gospel) in the extended form. Therefore, Pentecost Vigil Masses and Pentecost Day Masses are very different as far as readings are concerned, but they both fulfill the obligation.
