A friend of mine, who I helped convert to Catholicism seems to be drifting towards Pentecostalism. I was wondering if anyone could give some advice? He attends both a Catholic Church and a “Revival Fellowship” Pentecostal Church. He says spent many hours debating Scripture with these Pentecostals, and they have supposedly ‘proved’ to him that their ways of worship are Scriptural.
He says it’s the testimonies of the Pentecostals who speak in tongues that makes him question his beliefs in the Catholic Church.
I’m pretty sure he is still Catholic but, a post I found from him makes me wonder. Apparently, the Pentecostals, have convinced him that ‘speaking in tongues’ is a ‘necessity’ for salvation.
What would be some good advice to show him that this is not the case and that these Pentecostals are not the true Church?
Does anyone have any information on Catholics throughout the ages truly speaking in tounges? Not like to Pentecostals who just babble unintelligible noises and claim it’s a real language.
