HELP...I need an Apologist!

I used to watch the Journey Home as I was coming back to the Church and my wife was resisting. I told her I found this show about the Catholic Church I like and I want to watch it. I will watch it while you give the kids a bath if you don’t want to watch it.

That way I gave her a chance no not be forced into watching it, I didn’t trick her or anything and I was able to watch in peace. Eventually she became a little curious and started watching with me. She was very surprised that anyone would even consider or even did convert to Catholicism. Most non-Catholics have a lot of experience hearing about people converting from Catholicism, not to Catholicism. This is usually new to them and provides a good perspective.
Always be open and honest it, helps a lot more.

Since he is open to the RCC, would it work to just say: “Well, since you are open to the RCC, and want to examine its teachings, seeing that this is one of them, shouldn’t you hold off on this till you are sure about the Church happens?” This would at least buy time, and if his conversion goes through, he will surely accept the baptism.

Here, we see that we are to realize that The Father is the one God, and he is OUR GOD, and we are to Love and worship Him, and to teach our children to do the same. This was not a suggestion, and it was not relative, or was it to be a sign of respect or love to let our children flounder in this topic, it would be seen as a sign of neglect. A sign of neglect that we would have to answer for! Also, only if we believe that God the Father is only a possible God, acceptable among many could we teach our children such without lying to them.

And remind him that Baptism is the new circumcision, and that happened to infants: Including Christ!

Also, I am an RCIA instructor, and budding apologist, and am MORE than willing to engage in some email conversation with him. Just to flesh out his questions.

And I really like the quote and the interpretation…children are not supposed to make thier decision on whether they want to follow God or not, we are to set the example and teach them, if at an adult age they decide they want something else…well then there’s not much we can do, but we fulfilled out obligation to them as children.
