Help me understand please

I survived the Thanksgiving/Black Friday.

Today at work I was panicking about the department I had to work in. I don’t panic normally (was raised not to panic in a situation) raised by a saying in my family (don’t panic during the situation deal with the problem then you can panic after) my brain was so overwhelmed that I didn’t even realize that I didn’t use a berthing method for singers(I’m in choir) how can I handle this situation if and when it comes up again besides using the berthing method I’ve learned to use?

The berthing method that is used by singers is a combination of counting instead of saying 1234 we are taught to say 12t4 etc. (t) is said in place of 3 so like this "12t4 and so on up and down the scale. That’s the best way I can explain it.

I could be incorrect but pretty much like that.
 
i just do it all from ear , I dont even read music. I am learning the difference in timing ie 4/4 6/3 or whatever it is 😎👍🎹🎼

one day reading music is on the bucket list.

I don’t know the names of the notes but I can follow along pretty good, so I understand what you mean by you just do it from ear because I do the same thing.
 
Are you saying that you have anxiety or panic attacks, and that you use the berthing method you described to control your attacks?

If so, have you thought of seeing a therapist? He or she could teach you a number of approaches to deal with anxiety-ridden situations.
 
You seem to be asking for advice on how to handle a panic attack. Unfortunately, that’s medical advice and we’re not supposed to give medical advice on this forum.

I would suggest that you ask a doctor or a therapist, as Ean has said. There are a lot of approaches to handling anxiety/ panic disorder, but you should really be discussing them with your own health professional, not on the Internet.
 
What 4/4 ,6/3 timing means is 4 measures 4 beats per measure same with the 6/3. 😊

I sometimes get huge rushes of thoughts in my head from that “inner dialogue” which occasionally gets close to panic. Saying “stop” in my inner voice and then an Our Father in that same inner voice always helps me. Trying something like that might be worth a shot.
