I started playing an online game, I was a nobody and i made a friend over the internet. Basically this game rewards the top 100 players an limited edition item. So I promised him that I will give the item to him when i get it in 2010 1/1.

He doubted me, but pretended he was nice. So, everytime i get online he bugs me about it. I knew he doesn’t trust me, because theres over millions of players and only the top 100 can get it. So, in hoping he can trust me, i gave him my password and account.

so yesterday, after finishing one of my final exams, i went online, and he was immediately mad, he thinks I am gonna take back my words and not give him the item. So he threatened me and blackmailing me because he knows one of my secrets.

Ok…so…I really don’t like how he not trusting me and it is getting really anoyying, its heartbroken to hear him threatens to blackmail me.

I never harmed him, i never talk **** about him. I don’t deserve this kind of treatment, yet our lords always tell us to forgive. I really can’t forgive him for betraying me.

I want to take back my words and take back my account and not giving him the proper gift i promised him. This will harm my feelings and my soul, but he doesn’t deserve my trust and friendship.

I am not perfect, I have sins, I can not forgive everything. please, lord help me. What should I do.

it hurts my feelings to take back my words, but he threatened me in front of everyone makes me heartbroken for he was one of my best friend on the internet.

I like your user name, lol. So are you one of the top 100 players of this game? The fact that your dilemma is about an internet game and someone you have never actually met, I am going to say it is a non issue. God sends people to hell, I don’t see how it would be bad to not let this ungrateful person get your special edition game.

  1. Change your password, if it’s not too late.
  2. Report this person to the mods, if there are any.
  3. Cut off all ties with this person immediately.
  4. Enjoy your prize, if you win it.
You are under no obligation to give this person anything. That you offered it in a gesture of (ill-advised) good will is irrelevant; you are not “taking back your word” but reaffirming your stance. Since you offered the prize as a token of friendship, it stands to reason that you are well within your rights to revoke that offer if friendship – true friendship – is withheld.

Stand up for yourself. You can forgive this person without letting him/her walk all over you. Move on.

Peace,
Dante

I agree with what DanteAlighieri has said.

You said you would give the prize as a token of friendship. This person has not trusted you since the start. Therefore, there is no friendship there.

I know it is difficult, because you feel you are breaking your promise. Obviously you can still give them the prize if you want to. I would tell them the situation, how they have not been a trusting friend to you, and if they still harass you, report them to the game administrators.

Computer games are not real life. There are more important things. Don’t let something so silly consume you. From now on, remember the old rule when using the computer. Never give out your username and password.

I would advise you to stop playing the game. It is a game. It is causing you anxiety. Sometimes games can be addicting and take over lives as if they are real. Life and God have something better for you than living in an unreal world.

Thank you so much guys, I am so enlightened.

God bless you all.

And hopefully part of your enlightenment is that most problems that overwhelm us are pretty much nothing to somebody else, so letting the light in (from others) is often a very good solution.

God bless you

If you are one of the top people in the world playing a game that is played by hordes of people, my guess is that you are highly intelligent.

Also in order to be so good at a game it takes a lot of time and concetration, a big slice of your life.

I can tell you with certainty, you are wating your time and talent playing a game. You are wasting your time on something that does not matter. It is a distraction from other valuable things you could be doing with the talents God has given you.

In the parable Jesus talks about burying talents in the ground instead of using them for gain, for good.

Find out where you could be applying yourself to bring good into the world.
