Help Me With JWs, Guys? :P

One thing that I believe is all-important in discussing anything with JW’s is that you will never win an argument based upon interpretation of scripture. There is is always this other thing looming over them. No matter how much sense you may make; if you won every argument they threw at you (which is not that difficult to do), what keeps them in line is the fact that if they convert to anything outside of the JW faith, their life would be completely turned upside down; they would be shunned by all other JW’s, including family members and friends. The prospect of that happening is an external pressure that is very hard to overcome and is exactly what identifies them as a cult.

I have argued with them until I am blue in the face and have given them arguments that they have not been able to refute. When they went to the elders for answers, they were told to stop conversing with me.

Just pray for them.

So I had a couple of JWs come over for a two-hour Bible fury-thon. It was a pretty interesting day. I never had the JW (let alone TWO,) be the one to say “Alright, alright, we gotta go!” I was all over it on the divinity of Christ verses, the Catholic verses in reference to purgatory, the Eucharist, Confession, etc.

Anyone want to help me out for round two? Just heap up some verses, evidence for doctrines, etc. They seem really caught on the whole “no war” thing. One of them said “the Catholic Church has been in bed with more politicians than ANY organization in the world!” (Lol, THAT makes me want to be a JW.) He was like, “They bless their troops and tell them what they’re doing is the will of GOD!” Oh boy…

Anyway, I have a plan to keep our next meeting more… “Charitable.”

To be honest with you, I stopped any kind of discussions with them. I have learned they rarely listen to what one says and let alone accept it. I quite frankly find them a waste of time.
