How many weeks of advent is there and what is the title of each week ?
What is an advent calendar ?
When did the tradition of advent began ?

1st Week of Advent, 2nd Week of Advent, 3rd Week of Advent, 4th Week of Advent. The 3rd Sunday is known as Gaudete Sunday.

An Advent Calendar is used to mark the days of Advent up to Christmas. Often they have doors over the date, when opened holding a piece of chocolate or other treat for children.

Not sure, but I seem to remember it became part of the liturgical year as far back as the 3rd or 4th century, and was at one time a period of 40 days, like Lent.
 
The 1st, 2nd, and 4th weeks of Advent are penetential days. These are marked by the purple candles on the Advent Wreath. The 3rd Sunday is for rejoicing (Gaudete Sunday) which is a rose candle. This is a reminder that Christmas (the coming of the Lord) is near! Credit to:
