Gnosis - means “knowledge” and Gnostics were those that knew the hidden mysteries of the Messiah. I have done some research in to Gnosticism and there were sects after Yahshua’s resurrection that taught there was a deeper meaning to the things he taught in his ministry. Of course, when you are dealing with the Creator who is infinite - there is no end to what we can know about him. However, this teaching is based on the simplicity that is in the Messiah and by using Isaiah 8:20 to qualify what you are teaching - it must be witnessed by the law of Moses and the Testimony of the prophets and also Romans 1:19-20; Hebrews 11:6 and Exodus 25:8-9. In a sum, there is a simplistic way to go into the scriptures to give anyone a knowledge and understanding about the Purpose, Pattern and Plan of Yahweh as it is revealed by Yahshua (or the holy spirit). The very definition of eternal life given by Yahshua the Messiah himself is John 17:3 “And this is life eternal, that they might KNOW thee the only true Elohim, and Yahshua the Messiah, whom thou has sent.” So eternal life is to KNOW and the biblical definition of “know” is to have an intimate relationship with for the purpose of bearing offspring - just as Adam “knew” Eve and she conceived and beared offspring. Our knowledge is to the end that the Messiah can be fully formed in our hearts and minds. Colossians 1:26 “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and generations, but now is made manifest to his saints; 27 To whom Elohim would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is the Messiah (or Christ) IN YOU, the hope of glory;”

Gnosis - means “knowledge” and Gnostics were those that knew the hidden mysteries of the Messiah.
Gnostics were those who** claimed **they knew such. Contrary to orthodox Christian teaching, they claimed such knowledge was only available to some, not all.

This is not just Gnosticism this was also referenced by the savior himself in his own words that there were hidden mysteries (truth) that would be made known to a chosen few and not to all. John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.

Just as the erroneous Christian concept that you merely have to choose Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior to be saved. Yahshua the Messiah himself emphatically stated the opposite in John 15:16 You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

The Apostle Paul himself in Romans the 9th chapter explains that no one is making a choice - the choice is a predestinated one that none of had anything to do with. Yahweh will have mercy on whom he will have mercy and whom he hardeneth he hardeneth. Read the entire chapter to get the full understanding of this great mystery - if it will be given to you to understand it. I pray that it will. Love and peace in Yahshua the Messiah the savior.

I’ve learned more about Catholocism being in the IDMR than I did as a Catholic.
Clearly you were a very poorly catechized Catholic, as many of us were. However, what you have learned is the ideas of IDMR of what Catholicism is, rather than the Catholic faith.
Some questions for you as a Catholic prove purgatory by the bible - you can’t; prove a holy trinity by the bible - you can’t - Yahweh is a unity (Deuteronomy 6:4);
If you knew anything about Catholic faith, you would realize that our faith does not rest on “proofs” from the Bible.

It sounds like you are not Trinitarian, is that the case?
as a Catholic prove that God has a mother as Catholocism advocates Mary is “The Mother of God” - you can’t - Yahweh is a self-existing diety which is what Yahweh means “He who exists” (Isaiah 46:9);
Actually, I think this is not a gnostic heresy but relates other heretical sects that were flourishing until defeated by the successors of the Apostles. Gnosticism does deny the physical, but the Arian heresy was also a major point that was addressed by the doctrine of the Theotokos.
prove that the Mary is a mediator between Yahweh and man - you can’t - Yahshua the Messiah IS THE ONLY mediator between Yahweh and man (I Timothy 2:5).
You are asking Catholics to prove things they don’t even believe?
Did you say you were raised Catholic?
Sorry cannot leave the truth to return to a lie. Thanks for the invitation but I humbly and graciously decline.

It sounds like you are saying that Catholicism is a lie.

Clearly you have been given many lies about the Catholic faith.

👍 I was just thinking that same thing.

I’d like him to show us where it says in the Bible that everything we believe and practice has to have its basis there?

It looks to me like the only lies this guy has been exposed to are the ones his IDMR teachers have fed him and which he was too ignorant of his own Catholic faith to counter (as we will).

These verses would provide good starting points…

The Doctrine of Purgatory Proved from Scripture

2 Maccabees 12:42-46
Turning to supplication, they prayed that the sinful deed might be fully blotted out. The noble Judas warned the soldiers to keep themselves free from sin, for they had seen with their own eyes what had happened because of the sin of those who had fallen. He then took up a collection among all his soldiers, amounting to two thousand silver drachmas, which he sent to Jerusalem to provide for an expiatory sacrifice. In doing this he acted in a very excellent and noble way, inasmuch as he had the resurrection of the dead in view; or if he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have been useless and foolish to pray for them in death. But if he did this with a view to the splendid reward that awaits those who had gone to rest in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be freed from this sin.

Even those Christians who deny that Maccabees 1 & 2 belong are inspired and belong in the canon of the Old Testament must admit that this passage reveals that the Jews believed that that the living may pray for the dead and make sacrifices for them in order that they might be freed from the sins they had committed. It was with this cultural understanding as a backdrop that the following New Testament verses come into focus.

Luke 12:42-48
The Lord answered, "Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers. "That servant who knows his master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”

Notice that there are not two but three categories of servants in this parable: 1) the “wise and faithful manager” who is rewarded (heaven); 2) the unfaithful servant who knows his master’s will but does not do it and who is “cut to pieces and assigned a place with the unbelievers (hell)l; and 3) the one “who does not know and does things deserving punishment.” This final servant is beaten with “few blows” (purgatory).

1 Corinthians 3:10-15
By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

1 Peter 1:7
These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Sure thing…
  1. Mary is the Mother of Jesus.
  2. Jesus is God.
Therefore, Mary is the Mother of God.
It’s just that simple. Now, for a slightly deeper explanation:

Calling Mary “Mother of God” Tells Us Who Jesus Is
by Marcellino D’Ambrosio, Ph.D.
catholicexchange.com/2010/01/02/125718/

The mother of the messiah has been called many things in the last 2000 years — the Virgin Mary, Our Lady, the Blessed Mother. But call her “the Mother of God” and you’ll see some Christians squirm.

This is nothing new. One day in the early fifth century, a priest preached a stirring sermon in the presence of the patriarch of Constantinople. His subject was the holy mother of Jesus. The preacher continually referred to Mary as the “Theotokos” meaning “God-bearer” or mother of God. This was no innovation — Christians had invoked Mary under this title for at least two hundred years. Nevertheless, at the close of the sermon, the patriarch ascended the steps of the pulpit to correct the preacher. We should call Mary the Mother of Christ, said Patriarch Nestorius, not the Mother of God. She was the mother of his human nature, not the mother of his divinity.

His comment sparked a riot. And the dispute rocked not only the congregation, but the entire empire. Cyril, patriarch of Alexandria, Egypt, immediately recognized that Nestorius’ Marian theology was a symptom of a much deeper problem, a problem with the incarnation itself. For to deny Mary the title “Mother of God” makes of Jesus a dichotomy, a split personality. It would mean that God had not really embraced our humanity so as to become human. Rather, the humanity of Christ is hermetically sealed off from the divinity, as if Jesus were two persons, as if human nature was so distasteful that God, in Christ, had to keep it at arm’s distance. It is okay, according to Nestorius, to say that in Jesus, God raised Lazarus, or multiplied the loaves, or walked on water. But it is not okay to say that in Jesus God is born or that God died.

Cyril, aware that this was a challenge to the heart of our faith, demanded that an ecumenical council be called to settle the matter. So in 431, the Council of Ephesus met, under Cyril’s leadership, and solemnly proclaimed that Mary is indeed rightly to be honored as the Theotokos, the Mother of God. It proclaimed that from the moment of his conception, God truly became man. Of course Mary is a creature and could never be the origin of the eternal Trinity, God without beginning or end. But the second person of the blessed Trinity chose to truly become man. He did not just come and borrow a human body and drive it around for awhile, ascend back to heaven, and discard it like an old car. No, at the moment of his conception in the womb of Mary, an amazing thing happened. God the Son united himself with a human nature forever. Humanity and divinity were so closely bound together in Jesus, son of Mary, that they could never be separated again. Everything that would be done by the son of Mary would be the act both of God and of man. So indeed it would be right to say that a man raised Lazarus from the dead and commanded the wind and waves, that God was born that first Christmas day and that, on Good Friday, God died.

The Council of Ephesus, once confirmed by the Pope, became the third ecumenical council of the Catholic Church, and its teaching in this matter is dogma, truth revealed by God which all are bound to accept.

prove that the Mary is a mediator between Yahweh and man - you can’t - Yahshua the Messiah IS THE ONLY mediator between Yahweh and man (I Timothy 2:5).
Mary as Mediatrix Proved From Scripture

The Catholic Church recognizes Mary’s role in salvation history and invokes her under the title of Mediatrix. However, many people struggle to understand how Mary can have this role which they reserve for Christ alone, and they cite the following verse in support of their position:

1 Timothy 2:5-6
5For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.

Is this the complete picture of what the Bible has to say about the role of mediator? Let’s take a closer look at some verses which provide a bigger perspective on this important topic.

Hebrews 7:24-25
because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Here we see that Jesus “always lives to intercede” for “those who come to God through him.” The role of the mediator and the intercessor are synonymous; a mediator lives to intercede for others.

All Christians are called to be mediators or intercessors for one another because we are all members of Christ’s body as we see from Paul’s letter to the Ephesians:

Ephesians 1:22-23
“And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”

Paul referred to himself as a co-laborer with Christ when he wrote:

1 Corinthians 3:9
For we are God’s fellow workers.

Paul went further in his understanding of our responsibility as co-laborers with Christ when when he wrote:

Colossians 1:24
Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

Is anything lacking from the perfect sacrifice that Christ offered upon the Cross? Paul clearly indicates that more is to be done and that he makes up what is “still lacking” in his own flesh.

2 Corinthians 1:6
If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation

Additionally, we know that we are called to share in the priesthood of all believers (cf. 1 Peter 2:5-9), and a priest, by definition, is called to be a mediator between God and men. Each of us is called to this role and to be a mediator or mediatrix for others before God.

Therefore, if we are all called to this role of mediator and intercessor for one another, how much more can this be said of Mary who said, “Yes” to God and brought Christ into the world?

Speaking of this, the Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

[967](javascript:openWindow(‘cr/967.htm’)😉 By her complete adherence to the Father’s will, to his Son’s redemptive work, and to every prompting of the Holy Spirit, the Virgin Mary is the Church’s model of faith and charity. Thus she is a “preeminent and . . . wholly unique member of the Church”; indeed, she is the “exemplary realization” (typus) of the Church.

[968](javascript:openWindow(‘cr/968.htm’)😉 Her role in relation to the Church and to all humanity goes still further. “In a wholly singular way she cooperated by her obedience, faith, hope, and burning charity in the Savior’s work of restoring supernatural life to souls. For this reason she is a mother to us in the order of grace.”

[969](javascript:openWindow(‘cr/969.htm’)😉 “This motherhood of Mary in the order of grace continues uninterruptedly from the consent which she loyally gave at the Annunciation and which she sustained without wavering beneath the cross, until the eternal fulfillment of all the elect. Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation . . . . Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix.”

[970](javascript:openWindow(‘cr/970.htm’)😉 “Mary’s function as mother of men in no way obscures or diminishes this unique mediation of Christ, but rather shows its power. But the Blessed Virgin’s salutary influence on men . . . flows forth from the superabundance of the merits of Christ, rests on his mediation, depends entirely on it, and draws all its power from it.” “No creature could ever be counted along with the Incarnate Word and Redeemer; but just as the priesthood of Christ is shared in various ways both by his ministers and the faithful, and as the one goodness of God is radiated in different ways among his creatures, so also the unique mediation of the Redeemer does not exclude but rather gives rise to a manifold cooperation which is but a sharing in this one source.”

I posted this question on the 25th of November but never recieved any replies. Can anyone tell me where I may go to get an answer to this question?

Has anyone ever heard of the Institue of Divine Metaphysical Research. Also, Dr. Henry CLifford Kinley. What do they mean by true names like Yahshua, Yahweh Elohim and Yahweh. Why are they saying Jesus, God, and Lord are false and vain names and titles?

I need information to combat this as I was approached by a member of that religion and I want to be able to answer him on these things.

Thanks

Jerry
Even though you posred your question 4 years ago, maybe your question will help others, particularly JW’s, Mormons, and Clifford Kinley types of all stripes

Do you remember these words in scripture “my Lord and my God”? [Jn 20:28] spoken by St Thomas, an apostle, to Jesus after the resurrection.

The Apostle Paul himself in Romans the 9th chapter explains that no one is making a choice - the choice is a predestinated one that none of had anything to do with.
Not according to Catholic teaching. Catholics believe everyone has free choice. Catholics do not believe that anyone is predestined to heaven or hell.

Hello Jerry!

I just wanted to answer a couple of questions you needed answer for. Yahweh, Elohim, and Yahshua are the true correct Hebrew names of our heavenly father, word or son, and holy spirit. You can research these names to find out that this is true and they are not just old testament names.

Henry C. Kinley had a divine vision, and a divine revelation. He never gave credit to himself, and always said, “make me prove it to you.” Yes indeed there are many who claim they received visions and revelations, but Henry C. Kinley, or any other man or woman couldn’t have come up with such infallible proof. Remember, study to show Yourself approved! Find out for yourself. Then discern whether it be good or evil.

There are branches of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research all over the world. This is a school, not a church. And the self same gospel the Messiah preached, is also preached here. The school is not a cult, and is nothing that Henry C. Kinley came up with…but what was revealed to him.

I share this in peace, and Yah Bless!
That’s a very similar line Mormons use when asking a newbie to read the book of Mormon.

Here’s the truth of the matter. The Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research knows a little of this, but not all. For more information on this, you should read “Death By Deception” (Dr. R.S. Lawson…which will be changed to Dr. R.S. Kelley within about a month from now).

Yahweh - from YHWH (English letters equivalent to Hebrew letters for the divine Name of the Creator); Creator of heaven and earth; the Father

Yahshua - the Son of Yahweh; the Savior; name means ‘Salvation of Yahweh’ (Yah - meaning ‘from Yahweh’, Shua - meaning ‘salvation’)

Jesus - originally Iesus (see 1611 Edition of Holy Bible); Greek name, means ‘son of Zeus’

Christ - English word for the Greek word ‘Christos’ (see Websters dictionary); Christos is Greek word for ‘Krishna’ (see Greek-English dictionary); Krishna is Hindu deity (see Hindu religion)

God - English word for ‘Gott’; Gott is German deity (the deity of fortune; see German mythology); originally ‘Gawd’, an Assyrian deity

Lord - originally ‘Iord’, a German deity (the deity of agriculture; see German mythology);
supposedly a parent of ‘Thor’

Jehovah - came from ‘Jove’, which is another name for ‘Jupiter’, a Roman supreme deity (see Roman mythology)

Amen - original spelling & pronunciation of Egyptian supreme deity, commonly spelled
‘Ammon’ (see Egyptian mythology)
*The Egyptians had a custom of pronouncing the name of the one worshiped at the end of the petition or prayer, and this is where the custom came from.

Elohim - correct “title” of Yahweh; means ‘many deities’; replaced ‘El’ in Phoenician pantheon, and was replaced by ‘Baal’ (Ba El, known in Hindu as Bel); Yahweh created all the deities, which were simply angels that were being worshiped.

***There was never a letter ‘J’ in any language until the mid 1600’s (see encyclopedia, “J” book, at beginning of book is history of the letter)
