I need to find a commentary on the book of Isaiah. The folks in the sacred scriptures forum ignored me. Is there a good Catholic commentary out there on this Old Testament book? I can find no Navarre Bible on it.

Suggestions?
Thoughts?

The Collegeville Bible Commentary (by Liturgical Press) is a Catholic commentary series. The entire commentary set is available in a single volume, or in a series of booklets. They publish a booklet on Isiah (OT Volume #13, $4.95) - see litpress.org/Store/series_list.cfm?ID=47

However, as of this writing, it is out of stock at Liturgical Press (it is Advent, after all). But you may be able to find it in stock at Catholic booksellers.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I need something ASAP. Oh well. I wish the Navarre Bible would come out with their guide to the prophets. :gopray2:

i don’t know if this is going to help, but this web site has commentary for the readings for cycle A, the current liturgical cycle that we are in.

The OT readings during advent are from Isaiah and there is good commentary of those readings on this web site.

We are doing an advent bible study at our parish on the advent readings and this commentary has been very helpful in our discussion.

The set the record straight, you weren’t ignored – there simply is no known on-line complete Catholic commentary on Isaiah available. The best possibility is Fr. Most’s commentary, though it is not intensive, at least it is something.

If you need it for the Advent readings only, I second Dan-Mans recommendation.

Catholic theologian, Scripture scholar and apologist has recommended “The Prophecy of Isaiah” by J.A. Motyer. It’s not Catholic, however, and it is not online.
