I might have to work on Sundays. If they hire me, I’ll try to at least ask them to give 9-11 am off to go to mass. Any advice? They aren’t hiring people who won’t work on the weekends and my parents probably won’t support me in this decision to get Sunday off.

Ask if you can have an hour off on Sunday morning to attend Mass, and offer to stay an hour later to make up the time.

If you need the job, you need the job. Do your best to get your Sunday Mass time. Early morning, evening, Saturday.

You know your priorities better than any of us. Do your best, because that’s all you can do. No one is bound to the impossible.

It sounds like the money is needed. So it is a valid reason to miss mass. Try to go to another mass each week if you can’t get off.

Talk to your priest. Missing Mass to work when work is needed is excusable, but to cut out any gray area or guess work, if the priest agrees, then he can dispense the obligation officially. That is what I have had to do when I work all weekend on nights. Technically, I could go to Mass rather than sleep, but then I will end up in pretty bad shape. So the priest gave me a dispensation. I think it helps that I go multiple times other weekends, Holy Days, daily when I can, etc.
