Anyone got a good resource for teaching the names of the parts of church? Preferably online, but I’ll take whatever I can get. All the ones I have found so far (including the online resource for the series our religious ed program uses, approved by the USCCB) are pathetic! They talk about the “entranceway”, the “assembly space”, the “table”. I wanted something with narthex, nave, altar, etc. Some have a few good points, but then mess up something else. Anyone know of a good solid resource? I’m getting ready to make up my own, help!

Yeah! I saw something cute at EWTN Kids. Click on the “Village” picture on the left of the screen (third picture down). Then click on the big church on the upper left hand corner of the Village screen. Then you can click around on there and it will tell you the parts of the church and a brief description. You can click on the stairs to the “Choir Loft” to see the whole inside of the church, and from there you can even go to the sacristy and learn about the “lavabo dish” and “aspergillum” to name a few. I even had fun looking at that website 😃

I answered on this thread (forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=95673) some time ago, but it apparently got buried very quickly.
