Please pray for me and the struggle in my soul to forgive my ex-spouse and those beguiled by her to support false witness against me. My estranged daughter confronted me with claims that her father, who taught her virtues growing up, was a fraud. How difficult — and wondrous — it is to take upon oneself Jesus’ challenge to love those who make themselves so thoroughly an enemy to yourself! I can sometimes fully sense the enormity of Love whence came the words Jesus uttered in forgiving those who put Him on the cross. I know then the power of love that can forgive all. Now, in the night, that love seems asleep in the boat as an emotional storm rages. I thought I was learning well, until recently when I could not return the call of a former mutual friend who I still blame for supporting my ex. May I do so today.

Lord, I am still a piece of work to continue to be formed by Your love. Forgive me my trespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me. May I continue to grow in awareness of Your super-abundant Love. May I, Your would-be servant, better assist You in sharing that love. Help those who similarly struggle with false witness, especially those who are publicly smeared for political purposes. Amen.

I pray that our Heavenly Father provides you strength, guidance, and other blessings. Note that “loving” enemies means that we want the highest good for them (I.e., for them to eventually “get it”, God’s redirection, etc.).

@indymb, what a soul bearing post. I pray that your daughter will one day see the light.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless, and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments, we might not despair nor become despondent,
but with great confidence, submit ourselves to your holy will,
which is love and Mercy itself.
Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Father allow us to love over slander. May we as children of God follow your word and learn about your love. May we walk strong in Christ. In your name, Jesus amen!

So, so true and, in the midst of what led to divorce and even now, that IS the continuing refrain, when it’s easier or harder! May she be blessed with the rediscovery of Jesus’ love and may we all see each other in heaven. I like what C.S. Lewis said about loving oneself but not liking oneself, sometimes. That applies well with others. Peace.

It is ego that must be emptied if we are to love as Jesus loved. I love it when He reveals such things.

I searched for that friend’s last text and up popped his name mentioned in a 4-yr+ old text interchange with my ex, still residing on my phone. In it she blames me for the kids becoming alienated from me. As I read it, I thought of that day, and interchanges with her, in preparation, the weeks and even hours prior, when I was joyfully preparing for my son to be dropped off to the spend the summer with me. She brought him, and he came in and announced in a rehearsed manner that he no longer wanted to spend time with me and that mom would arrange in court to change the parental visitation set in the final divorce decree.

I reread the heated text exchange. I felt sadness and pity for both her and my son. But, no longer the anger. God sets all things right in His Love for us. Very few observing the crucification could imagOne the glorious results to come from it. Neither could Job discount God’s good intents and purposes in the midst of his gut-wrenching misery.

God’s loving will be done, in His time. May we pray for strength in the waiting.

Prayer for Justice

God of Justice and Mercy,
I humbly ask you to inspire integrity and honesty
in our government. Enlighten our lawmakers and
president so that they will to work together for
the betterment of the U.S. and our world community.
Give us hope in this dark time. In Jesus’ name,

amen.

Praying for you as you are praying for your enemies!!!

We who have been personally smeared are at least spared the public smearing which is more and more applied as a political weapon. I pray for justice to be served with those who practice public false witness and for more support for those on the receiving end. Most are not practiced in dealing with it, like U.S. Presidents, such as now with Judge Amy Coney Barrrett or worse, the campaign waged against Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

I so prayed for Brett Kavanaugh and his wife when he was ambushed with the most improbable, yet fully orchestrated political smear against him to defeat his nomination. I read this book which scarily recounts the backstory of what occurred and what wasn’t portrayed in media at that time. Judge Kavanaugh was a man of great faith and reputation, all of which was dragged through the mud in a brazenly political hit-job-drama to so besmirch him as to prevent him from being elevated to the Supreme Court. We are fortunate who avoid such a fully prepared, made-up public shaming, but I could emphasize with the undeserved anguish he must have felt.

I pray that the acts of those who orchestrate such high levels of public false witness be defeated, and that they who practice them find God’s love and reconciliation, which brings us all ultimately together.

May we pray for the courage required to defend our integrity, character and faith when theses might be publicly challenged in this time of cancel culture and online shaming. God be with us, and Saint Michael defend us in battle.
