I would like to volunteer as a teacher for religious education.
I have a particular interest in apologetics.
The problem is my wife did not accompany me on my journey back into the Church. In fact the more interest I show the more hostile she becomes.
I really feel a call to teach
How do I approch her with without causing problems in my marriage

Can you volunteer in such a way that you still have time to be an attentive and loving husband?

I think the question posed by LSK is an excellent one. I too am in a marriage where we are unequal in our enthusiam for the Lord. I returned to my Catholic heritage and my husband has not returned to the faith in God and Church that he had as a child (he was Episcopalian and an altar boy at that).

I have taught CCD (3 yrs) and I did enjoy it. But I think that if you are concerned that your wife might object, first ensure that you are being attentive to her needs. Do you make yourself available to her and show her the love she deserves?

If you show her Christ’s love, rekindled through your love of the Church, how could she object to a better you! 🙂

Good luck and God Bless,

CARose
