I need help refusing this claim on this website given by an anti catholic. It claims to have quotes of popes claiming to be God on earth.
Www.lightministries.com-this is the website

Your post does not make sense. What are you trying to say?

Edit : Ask him to produce those quotes. It’s on him to back up his claim.

Pl.understand that the basic thing all anti Catholics want and hope is to break Pope’s authority and power. We believe that the power given by Jesus to Peter for certain things is continued to be exercised by Popes who we believe is Peter’s successor. Don’t give any consideration to any other thinking. As for the precise authority and power of Pope and the circumstances it can be exercised and applicable etc. don’t go by these sites but refer to some official documents.

My personal opinion is that there are a lot of anti-Catholic websites out there that contain a lot of junk, and it’s not necessary to go around responding to them.

If your question is actually with one aspect of the website, like you read something on the site that concerns you, post your question on this forum as an individual issue and we can respond to that, but it’s overbroad/ unreasonable/ unnecessary to respond to some big anti-Pope anti-Catholic website. Joseie pretty much said all that needs to be said.

Alex,

My recommendation is to stay far far away from that website. They (or actually might be he? I’m thinking it’s just one guys opinions) have nothing to offer you there and you will never be able to give them a refute that they will be willing to accept. I read through their “True Church” section and they come across as a me and Jesus group. People who state…
Can we depend alone upon the knowledge and wisdom from earthly sources? No, because we would become the enemies of God (see James 4:4). Can we then depend alone upon the knowledge and wisdom from other men? No, because if we depend on the words of other men – be they pope or priest, minister or elder, guru or shaman, we will be cursed (see Jeremiah 17:5). Can we then depend alone on our own wisdom? No, because that is foolishness (see 1 Corinthians 1:19-20, 3:19).
Then say to only trust the Bible, yet can’t see that their wisdom (which is foolishness) is what is doing the interpretation of said Bible…are irrational people and can’t be reasoned with.

Take the time you would waste on that site and use it here to actually have a decent conversation and actually learn something you can use.

God Bless

That website is nothing more than a garbage picker from all over the internet, recycled, rehashed, thrown up and out to see where it lands. You nor anyone else can be expected to sift through it amongst the lies, half truths, wilful misinterpretations.

A much better read and use of your time would be the Catechism of the Catholic Church. http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/_INDEX.HTM

Praying for you, for peace. 🙏
