Hi,
I’m an 18 going on 19 year old man and I was curious if y’all on the forums could help me a bit.
I’ve dealt with scrupulosity most of my faith life, which has gone ranged from pestering to debilitating, though as I’ve matured it has been easier to deal with.
I also seem to have lapses of licentiousness and sloth in between “high-anxiety” periods- e.g. I’ll read a hell-and-brimstone sermon and it will wake me up spiritually for a while and then I have these little lapses a time later where I’m back into this lazy spiritual state until I get kicked in the behind again by another passage or sermon that challenges the foundation of my self-assurance and “comfort”. I feel like living this almost bi-polar faith life is simply unhealthy. How do I find a balance?
Thanks.
Sts. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus pray for me to act boldly for Christ.
