My apologies to all for appearing harsh as that was not my intention.

I was trying to be real, provide a perception from outside the marriage as opposed to from within. Our children do learn about relationships from observing the parents, how well they treat each other. Their approach to the obligations of marriage and the vows they took.

It would be nice if we took pride in our children seeing how well we honor and treat our spouses.
Yes, As I mentioned before, I am 100 times better off that my ex. left. But our children have suffered greatly.

Innocence, the reality is that you may be able to pull it off. Divorce your husband, marry this man, get an annulment, and have the next one blessed making it sacremental and validating it all in the eyes of the church. The church seems all to eager to grant annulments these days. But at what cost? Your son will be more likely to get into trouble and develop a drug problem. He will most likely become irreligious and hostile to the Catholic church since they “approved of his parents divorce”.
The shine WILL fade on this man and you will see he isn’t so different after all except you won’t be sure if you can trust him and he will certainly not trust you.

Then you realize the grass wasn’t greener, in fact it’s actually browner. Are you going to look outside your marraige again? Your looks will fade too and by then you may not have that option.

I honestly believe that the reason my ex. has stayed with her husband as long as she has, even though their problems are the same as ours were only on a much bigger scale, is because she doesn’t want to make the same mistake twice.

At some point you will have to work on your marraige. And it gets harder and harder each time you give up and move to the next one.

Sweetheart, run the other way, and right now. This type of thinking will be disastrous for your entire life as well as breaking other hearts. I fell in love with someone else I worked intimately with and it is hard to walk away. Fortunately I did walk away from this man. I am forever grateful to an Almighty God for helping me make the obviously right choice of remaining in my marriage. I am so glad I did.

As a married person, we are to guard our hearts. There will always be people who are attractive in our lives, our co-workers, our neighbors, the other parent at the soccer games. We are to be disciplined in our thoughts so to never entertain fantasies about another person. Certainly this culture is all about creating fantasies with other people and there’s no one to say it’s wrong to do so. You’ve taken it waaay past that.

Do not indulge yourself any longer in thinking about this other man. You are courting a train wreck for your life. Stop. When thoughts of him crowd your mind, say No. Then say Thank you Jesus for dieing on the Cross! Thank you Jesus for the gift of life! Jesus have mercy, save me from myself!

As for becoming Catholic, pursue it. Grow in grace. It is not surprising that anyone who is thinking of coming into the fullness of Truth and possibly receiving Jesus truly present in the Eucharist (there is no greater gift than this in the universe) is being very strongly tempted. Fall on your face before God and ask for strength to pursue virtue and not vice!
