I try to explain the The Mass as an long prayer.
then to break it down The first half is Hymns Scripture readings and prayer the second half is a celebration of the Last Supper and the ending to go out and proclaim the Gospel.

I would agree, but then also find out from your friend what specifically about the mass they are having difficulty with understanding. Well the person that ask is the person that was banned lst week after one posting and some how got my email address. I was just trying to be nice to her.Her real name is Rachel but I do not know the name she was posting under… I said I would try to answer one question.

It might depend on what kind of non-Catholic Christian the person is. If Lutheran, for example, you’ll have little difficulty. Most liturgical Christians use terms like Kyrie, Introit, Collect, etc.
I think, for others, the advice of a long prayer is appropriate, or continuing worship based on scriptural readings, as that is effectively what the Mass is.
