When installing proprietary software I overlooked and did not uncheck a box for the install of Avast antivirus. Once discovered it I used Revo Uninstaller to remove it as I already have Norton Security Suite. I believe I had completely uninstalled AVast but this morning an Avast pop up appeared telling me I had an unsecured network? I looked for Avast in other uninstallers and it is not present. I went to the registry editor and found Avast folder amd entries in both HKEY_Classes_Root- Software and HKEY_Current_User. Also when I search for Avast in Start a registry entry cc_20100808_105603.reg is shown. Wondering can these folders and subfolders in the registry be safely deleted along with the .reg?

When I am in doubt, actually always…
Make a backup of the registry and pc.
Export the keys to a file so they can be easily reinserted.
Delete the keys.
Reboot and see what happens.
