St. Jude, glorious Apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the true Church invokes you universally as the Patron of things despaired of; pray for me, that finally I may receive the consolations and the succor of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly (here make your request), and that I may bless God with the Elect throughout Eternity. Amen.

I’m confused as to what I should put in the “request” part, what would you guys put?

I put in personal intentions of mine I am struggling with.

Prayer to St, Jude.
Glorious St. Jude, with faith in your goodness, we ask your help today. As one of Christ’s chosen Apostles, you remain a pillar and foundation of His Church on earth. You are counted, we know among the elders who always stand before God’s throne.

From your place of glory we know you do not forget the needs and difficulties of Christ’s little ones here, still struggling, like me, , on the way home to God. Please intercede for us all, gracious St. Jude, , and be with us in our daily toil and in all our necessities. In Christ’s name we appeal to you again today. Amen.

St Jude,
pray for us.
Mary.

A couple suggestions:
  • Your parents
  • The soul of a deceased loved one
  • Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
  • For all expectant mothers
  • Purity, Humility, Courage, Fortitude, etc.
  • That God’s Will be done in your life
  • For your future spouse
  • Something I do occasionally is just say the prayer and ask God to give the graces of the prayer to whoever He knows needs it the most.
I hope this helps! 🙂 Beautiful prayer, by the way! I say this exact one every night! God bless!

I never heard that prayer before, it’s beautiful. But I have heard of St. Jude being the patron saint of lost causes, so I call on him when all else has failed.
