Gayle your not alone. I know all of us have time when it seems our prayers just hit the ceiling. I have been through many “dry” periods in my faith. I think God has worked the most during those times. I have had many health challenges in my life and with them very dry periods in my faith, but it does not mean you are losing your faith. I remember reading in the Bible about God being that still small voice. You will find him there. I have learned alot about the Benedictines and have found that God can be drawing you closer to himself through this time. I will pray for you. It will get better. I always ask the holy spirit to come and that helps me to get centered. It is difficult when we don’t connect with our own church, I am going through this too being in a small community. I have to go 20 miles to get to my Catholic church and it is not as I would hope but communion is the reality of our faith. I can say that when I feel this way, it was time to go to communion even more than when it was easier to go. I really hear what your saying Gayle, but most important God hears you. Christ’s peace.
