Catholics Come Home shared this Season 1 Q&A video segment on Facebook this morning and I thought it would be good to have it here:
“How can I help loved ones return home?”
In it is a quote from 1 Peter 3:15 which struck me:
“Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who calls you to account** for the hope that is in you**, yet do it with gentleness and reverence…” [emphasis, mine]
We frequently shy away from evangelizing because we lack confidence in our knowledge of Church teaching and apologetics, but here, in the quote, is the real key to changing hearts: we don’t need to defend facts, dogma, scripture, traditions. We defend the hope that live in our hearts. That should be easy for everyone who lives in the Lord.
