That does not mean you cannot go to a church in the area on your own.

I have taken a taxi to church *many *times when on vacation without transportation of my own. It just takes some preplanning to know where the churches are and what time they have mass.

If there is physcially no Catholic Church at all in the area, that is a different matter.

Again, talk to your priest.
