Helping someone sin

Hello all,

I know there are various names for types of sin (omission, commission, etc…), What is the type of sin called when one is helping another sin?

Not trying to sound ugly…but it’s a sin…does it matter? Confess it.

I believe in depends on what you are doing.
So if you help someone lie by lying for them you are guilty of lying -
If you help someone have an abortion you are guilty of abortion… (murder)
that person is also responsible for their own sin.

Its gets a little hazy because your intend and knowledge is also taken into account in deciding the degree of sin committed.
And really only you and God know your intent and knowledge.
but-
for example if i am married and non catholic and use birth control I am guilty of that - if my husband has sex with me disregarding the teaching- he is also guilty
If his intent is to be open to life and his concern for me is out of medical concern for me… he is not sinning -
but i could still be sinning if I am not open to life - know about the teaching - and disregard it … even if i am also using birth control for medical reasons.
But HE would not be sinning … in that case or helping me sin if his concern knowledge and intent are in lines w Catholic teaching-

Catechism:

1868 Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them:

• by participating directly and voluntarily in them;
• by ordering, advising, praising, or approving them;
• by not disclosing or not hindering them when we have an obligation to do so;
• by protecting evil-doers.

1869 Thus sin makes men accomplices of one another and causes concupiscence, violence, and injustice to reign among them. Sins give rise to social situations and institutions that are contrary to the divine goodness. “Structures of sin” are the expression and effect of personal sins. They lead their victims to do evil in their turn. In an analogous sense, they constitute a "social sin."144

Generally if you are actually helping (rather than just encouraging or approving) it is called “participating in the sin of another.” It doesn’t get called “a sin of participation” like you have “a sin of commission” and “a sin of omission.” At least I’ve never heard it referred to that way.
