Not to be rude here, but why in the world do we get so many posts about masturbation here in the Forum? It seems that everybody and his brother has a problem with it. Frankly, it’s starting to annoy me! Anybody else think my way?

It is also on the border of the pg and child protection responsibility of a CAF in my opinion.

It seems like a lot in the last week, doesn’t it?
I think that people see a question, think it is okay to ask about, and feel their question is somehow different than all the other questions about the same thing. Wish they would just use the search feature and see that they are just like all the other people that asked…

It seems to be a lot of people joining and then right away asking. Like they joined just to ask.😳

You know, Irishmom, I treally wonder if most of these posters are, forgive me, imposters!

They post their “issues” purely for the shock value they produce.

Yes, I think some have. And I think some are teens getting their kicks by making a post. “Ooh, let’s see what they will answer to this!!”

Don’t the moderators have some way of screening posts?

If someone truly thinks it is bogus or problematic, they can flag it and explain what they think is going on to a moderator.

On the old CAF there used to be this one kid that kept posting and he was only 13. ( members had to be older back then.) Anyway, he was really crude, I reported him as did other people, and he was gone. A month would go by, he would post again with a new name, but not entirely new…and the same graphic subject matter. I even called him out and he would say, no, I am new! It was laughable. And yet, not.

Irishmom,

Please tell me how to flag! I’m reaching the point where I may have to do so (within reason of course).

See the heart at the bottom of the post? Click on the 3 dots to the right of it, and then click on the flag. Then there will a few options. The last one allows you to type a reason.

I wanted to help before with prayer when I read them ,but now don’t read them because they are getting too descriptive,a bit explicit
If those threads could be drafted off before they hit the mainstream forum that would be best, dealt with in a private area somehow.

I agree it gets a bit much, but I can understand what draws people here to post about it. It’s something a huge number of guys struggle with, and it’s not exactly something most guys want to talk about out in the open. An anonymous forum is the ideal place for them to come and lay it all out there.

I do tend to avoid those threads for the most part, but every once and a while I venture in and try to say something encouraging.

I think there should be a moratorium on the Masturbation threads. Or a separate subforum we can mute.
Make CAF Great again! 📌
OK, I’ll shut up now.

I agree that the masterbation threads have become a little too much. And I understand why some of us here want to cut it all off. However, there are some people who genuinely have a problem and genuinely have questions. Should we punish them because of the trolls? That’s a hard question to answer. It also might be a problem with the “open forum” of the new CAF.

Since this is the case, I would think the moderators could open a separate topic site specifically for sexually-oriented issues, leaving the other sites free from interference.

Ugh!! To me, those posts are pornographic and I won’t read them. IMO, the majority are bogus but posters know they can post this stuff and get away with it. I wish CAF would stop allowing posts like that. It surprises me that those posts get so many responses so quickly.

Whenever I see that topic appear, I immediately mute it and never have to see the thread again.

Okay, but why do their questions have to be so graphic and explicit? Just state that they have a problem and ask for advice.
