I thought this may be helpful for some. I put this together.

I have a recommendation. Sloth is not just laziness it is also a kind of despair or indifference. Aquinas described it as the sorrow for a spiritual good. It is the disinclination to heed God’s call because the task seems too difficult or impossible. It is a rejection of the idea that “with God all things are possible.”

Diligence, like the other six virtues, is not the counter to its sin because it is the opposite. It is the counter because it is the virtue that most undoes the damage. Sloth keeps you from starting (or halts you in the middle of) a spiritual task. Diligence keeps you moving even when you think you’ll never succeed.

Thanks- I tried to find Aquinas definitions but often couldn’t.

St. Margaret de Cortona is very effective in interceding against gluttony. And gluttony isn’t only for overeating, it’s for any excessive focus on food (eating only very delicious food – what Aquinas called “the best dainties”, eating “clean”, not eating what is offered in hospitality because you don’t like it or it’s not on your diet, etc)

@EndTimes, do you not ever pray to God through any saint’s intercession?

When my Faith Increased. All my Prayers go to God/Jesus…

Except when I lose something… I ask St. Anthony as me Mom would do. 🙂

I love St Anthony he is my favorite saint and also Mother Teresa. Always when I loose something I call on St Anthony and I find it immediately. Just amazed me. By the way I love my religion and I do call it a religion.
