Hey a personal question

hey im a guy…a few years ago i had almost had a sexual relationship with another man…i dint have sex…but physically we did alot…i am very giulty about the act…what am i supposed to do…and if i confess…what do i say to the priest…i get verry nervous while confessing…could someone help me pls…
 
if you feel like you need to confess, then you need to confess…

i’d confess to the sin i feel i’ve commited… giving in to lustful
desires…

just my opinion…

I would suggest that when you talk with your priest you talk to him openly and honestly about the encounter and have him guide you in terms of the penance you will need to perform. I know that when I needed to confess past sins of sexual misconduct, it was very difficult and embarassing, but my priest was kind and understanding and the relief I felt upon receiving absolution was incredible.

Now that you know that it is sinful, you can go to a priest and confess this to get penitention and absolution.

Once you get this, you must believe that your sin has been pardoned. To despise sinful action assertively is to take God’s side (although only through confession).

God will hear you and He himself will come and save you from it.

To repent is the first step you can take to be assertive before God that you take His side and not His enemie’s side. Once you repent, the next step is God’s action : God will come to fulfill His Promise. (Remember that John the Baptist shout “repent, make straight God’s path”, then Jesus will come and die on the cross for those who believe Him)

Apostle John in one of his letters say that “If you confess your sin, God will forgive you. But if you say that you don’t sin, you lie, thus the truth is not with you.” This verse is very clear that you need to acknowledge your sinfulnness, then God will forgive you.

And when He forgive you, you will be free indeed. Believe it.

All you have to say to the priest is, “I have been impure with a man ______ number of times”
That’s it. You don’t need to go into details. Just confess the sin and move on.
 
You could say that you struggle(d) with SSA and have almost acted on it in the past. Ask for advice and forgiveness. Try going face to face. It might make it easier for you since f2f is more conversational than behind the screen.
 
I’d like to add, that sacrament of reconciliation is a tool provided to help you to have peace with your conscience.

To do it you just have to say to the priest this way :

“Father forgive me for I have sinned. This is my first confession” (If this is not your first, then you mention how long it has been since the last confession). Then tell him the truth.

After that you just listen to what the priest has to say to you.

If you think you really cannot do it, do not condemn yourself because of it. The sacrament is there to help you not to condemn you even further.

The most important thing is that you really want to change and you say it assertively in your prayer that you really want to change. You must also being assertive in confessing that you believe in Jesus’s Cross and that Jesus is your Lord. God will see your heart and He will save you.

Find a priest who seems orthodox and compassionate, and confess this sin to him. Just say “I committed a homosexual act once”- that’s all you need to say about that. If you held it back from previous confessions, the priest needs to know that too (as well as the sins you confessed in those confessions- because if you knowingly hold back a mortal sin in confession, it makes your confession invalid. I hate to sound legalistic, but this is important to know. Please know that you are in my prayers.
