Those tests were good, but a little time with a saints book and you could ask about the various symbols that are common for a saint (St. Joseph – white lilies for chastity, a square and tool for workers)
Some saints have more colorful symbols, but you could easily add those questions to the evening.
The questions we had to answer for my son’s saint’s day report – when did the saint live and where, was the saint rich or poor.
Most interesting story when a child or adult, what miracles are best known, what virtues were most outstanding, what is the saints symbols, how the saint typically pictured, why the child chose that saint and what statement might be associated with that saint.
