please pray for me… my divorce is supposed to be very simple… even though i am being very cooperative, his lawyer is simply not sending the papers across to me… i just want to sign it and submit it and get it over with…
can all of you please pray for me…???

it keeps me awake at night… i beg of you, please pray for me as my prayers dont seem to be getting heard… i feel like crying most of the time…

😦 😦 😦

Based on my own professional experience, court-imposed deadlines usually work far better than prayer with obstinate opposing counsel.

Do you have a schedule set by the court setting dates for exchanging information? If so, counsel should be abiding by that calendar or is risking sanctions. If you do not have such a schedule, it may be time to get the court’s intervention to set one. You should contact the local court with jurisdiction over the final divorce order to get some relief. I am assuming you have hired counsel of your own–s/he should be managing these procedures to spare you the headache. Attorneys have professional and ethical legal obligations to respond to pleadings in a timely manner. Don’t sit on your hands and agonize needlessly–hold the attorneys’ feet to the fire and demand some accountability.

what she said…and I will pray for you also because, in the words of those far smarter than me, it can’t hurt.

Praying for you. Don’t hesitate to complain against that lawyer. His behaviour is childish, immature and unethical. Scum like that should not serve the law as it only inflicts undue emotional hardship on the decent citizens. You have no obligation to put up with that and it’s certainly not a prescribed part of court proceedings.

I will pray for you also, but agree that something that the court needs to do as well. My sister has an attorney and when she wrote letters, called, faxes, etc all were ignored by the opposing attorneys. She just went and made the court date without them and did some sort of cross reference, I think, so that they can’t complain. They have not contacted her and only did so on the day of court to say that the ex wanted to settle out of court. I don’t understand why some attorneys act this way and they shouldn’t be practicing law, but there are some out there like that. I understand your anxiety though. I remember you and have been praying for your marriage. I remember you saying that it was going to end in divorce. I pray that you can get this done soon so that you can go on with your new life. I will pray for you and ask our Blessed Mother to hold you especially close to her heart. Just keep praying and do whatever you need to do to get the courts to get these attorney moving as well.

thank you so much for your prayers everyone… i did get a response from his attorney today…
she faxed the papers to me… praise the Lord!!!

i just have to make the changes and return it to her to get it signed.

Please pray for me that the divorce is finalised soon… that it not take 2 months… 😦
i know that i should not be praying for that and i do feel guilty about it but i am tired of it and praying for it … it just hurts all the time and i want it to be over…

When I divorced, the opposing lawyer caused many delays. My lawyer moved for the other side to pay his fees. Things really started moving then!

this is the final thing… just the marital settlement agreement and then file it with the court…
🙂
