I’m really interested in early church history and tracing back bishops and all that. I was wondering if there was a way to find out what are the oldest diocese of the Catholic Church? I’ve only been able to find a few (Lyon, Rome, and so on). I was hoping someone could help me with this. I am also using this as a way to show Protestant friends and family that the early church has never “disappeared” and just didn’t come around in the 16th century, as well as apostolic succession.

Old Dioceses…you can google them…Jerusalem-first bishop was St. James, Alexandria, founded by St. Mark, members are called the Coptics, the Syro-Malabar from India founded by St. Thomas…these are just a few.
