History and Anthropology College Classes - Bias against Church

Wouldn’t you know they changed the format just in time for me to log back in after a long absence, lol.

As to be expected, the college history and anthro classes my daughter is taking have a lot to say about the Church and her failings with regard to indigenous peoples, etc. I’d like my daughter to be able to defend her faith while still acknowledging the wrongs committed by individuals within the Church.

Any sources to recommend? Books, websites, blogs, online articles, etc.?

Well I think its important for her to acknowledge that the Church having good times and bad times has nothing to do with the credibility on the faith.
Then you can argue if those presuposittions are valid.

In case you are not willing to buy a book, I highly suggest checking out Catholic answers videos on the crusades, galileo controversy and others.

Once again I say, I don’t think having the Church do bad things from time to time is evidence of non validation. We are all sinners and as long as the gates of hell dont prevail, we are fine at the state we are now.
 
Anything by Regine Pernoud would be a great place to start.

Also Christ the Kind: Lord of History is a good resource. Anne Carroll. It’s a homeschool textbook.

I can also recommend books by Hilaire Belloc. Has a decidedly British take on things, but excellent on the Reformation and Crusades.

Christ and the Americas by Dr Anne Carroll might be helpful specifically with the indigenous peoples aspect.
