Hello everyone, former protestant here hoping to be able to join the Catholic Church soon. These are some of my thoughts as a former Protestant.
One thing that really hurts America is that we do not learn from our history. It has hurt us in Politics and Religion. We forget where we came from and ultimately create a newer version of where we have been. In religion, as a long time Protestant, I have been to many different Churches. What I see is a diluted version of Catholicism. Another Church to make something easier or remove something we do not like. This is a post of mine on another Catholic forum.
“Personally, I have found it amazing that the Catholic Church can list every single Pope all the way back to Peter. As a former CoC’er I always remembered Mathew 22:14 “That many are called but few will be chosen.” If you look at the history of these two Churches, the term “many” really cannot be applied to the CoC base. I read they currently have around 3.5 million current members. Whereas the Catholic Church has toppled the 1 Billion mark. Now, if you look at the history, and the people who have come before us that were Catholic members vs. those of CoC, there is only one that can actually say that “many” have been called. In a world of over 6 billiion residents, 3.5 million is not that many.”
