Last night I saw a film called “Holiday Affair” on Turner Classic Movies.

It’s the story of a young widowed mom, played by Janet Leigh with a cute little son, and a dependable nice boyfriend, who would like to marry her. Then she meets Robert Mitchum, who also is a very nice man, and he would like to marry Janet Leigh as well. At the end she chooses Robert Mitchum .

It was a cute film.

What films do you like around this time of year?

The Muppet Family Christmas
A Year Without a Santa Claus
Its a Wonderful Life

A Time to Remember It will probably be on EWTN sometime. That’s where I first saw it. Especially moving if one has an Italian - American background. @F_Marturana, I think you would like it.

We always watch Elf at some point too. 😉
A Christmas Carol, Marley Sims version.
Grinch, Jim Carey version.

I think I saw that one. Is that’s the one with the grandmother who passed away, and a little grandson trying to keep her traditions, while the dad is reluctant? The dad had a mustache, I think.

🤧

No, in this one, the young Angelo, wants to be an opera singer. His dad (Raymond Sera) is against it, his grandmother (Morgana King) encourages it, and his parish priest who supports him ( is wonderfully played by Donald O’Connor.)

I havn’t watched any yet, but like the original “Miracle on 34th st”. And then;
A Christmas Story
Elf
The Grinch w/Jim Carrey

Oh. Ok. Morgana King is in The Godfather, she plays Mrs. Corleone, Vito’s wife.

I’ll look for it.

Now I’m wondering about the film I described. I wonder what that one is called?

I don’t know, but it sounds good.

I also loved A Christmas Memory based on a memoir written by Truman Capote.

The Little Drummer Boy
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Prancer
The Nutcracker (1993)

I have to watch, A Christmas Carol, with George C Scott. If not, Christmas doesn’t happen.

Some off the beaten path…An American Christmas Carol, A Christmas Carol (with George C. Scott) and One Magic Christmas.

It’s a Wonderful Life is a film I never miss watching at this time of year.

The Polar Express and A Muppet Family Christmas are movies my family has made tradition, but we also tend to watch Elf (the Will Ferrell one, of course, not the disastrous animated musical remake).

And sometimes polar express
