Um…yeah. Religion=catholic means what? I took it to mean you identify yourself as Catholic. You have Catholic with a small “c” by your religion profile. Was that to mislead or a mistake?
What’s the dealio?

I went to school. I understand and appreciate the difference. The lower case was, and is, intentional. You have Catholic with a small “c” by your religion profile. Was that to mislead or a mistake?
First glance does not always give an accurate impression.Um…yeah. Religion=catholic means what? ** I took it to mean you identify yourself as Catholic.**

I assume you are advancing the infamous “better dead than underfed” argument in support of abortion?Remember, too, that not everyone has had such a sweet, white-picket-fence childhood. That assumption is dangerously naive.

You stated in an earlier post that you have not identified yourself as a Catholic. Very misleading to have catholic next to your religion.I went to school. I understand and appreciate the difference. The lower case was, and is, intentional.

Well that is a relief. I’m always distressed when people hold themselves out to the members of the Catholic Church while gleefully tearing down its teachings.I went to school. A understand and appreciate the difference. The lower case was, and is, intentional.

It appears to be the modus operandi for many in CAF. For some reason they think if they describe themselves as Catholic it gives them more credibility when they dissent from its teachings. You stated in an earlier post that you have not identified yourself as a Catholic. The last thing I am looking to glean from my experience on CAF is “credibility”. I don’t need endorsement from any poster or moderator here, just a corner of the page to state my views. Credibility is mine by the very facts that I exist, and I can think and reason. Nowhere in the bylaws does it state that I must agree with everyone, or even anyone. It appears to be the modus operandi for many in CAF. No glee involved. Just alternate views.Well that is a relief. I’m always distressed when people hold themselves out to the members of the Catholic Church while gleefully tearing down its teachings.
No. I have a long-standing policy of not responding to people who misrepresent their faith. The last thing I am looking to glean from my experience on CAF is “credibility”. Surely you don’t believe that the Catholic religion cornered the market on the word “catholic”, or do you? This is no trick; but it does drive that laser pointer in the direction of everyone who feels s/he has been duped by my identification. Don’t assume anything, people. Assumptions only lead to misunderstandings.
Shall we continue?

Yeah, Bob, I’m with you. Difficult to have an honest exchange of views with someone who does so.No. I have a long-standing policy of not responding to people who misrepresent their faith.
Your assumption is incorrect.I assume you are advancing the infamous “better dead than underfed” argument in support of abortion?
Because you and others failed to appreciate the significance of the lower case “c” in my designation of “religion” does not make me dishonest. It makes you unaware of the true meaning of “catholic” as opposed to “Catholic”.No. I have a long-standing policy of not responding to people who misrepresent their faith.
I didn’t have to supply ANY information regarding my religion. Instead I offered you people a little insight as to my world view. If you missed it, that’s not on me. I am not masquerading as a “Catholic” or I would have written “Catholic” in the appropriate slot on my registration. There is a difference between “catholic” and “Catholic”, as I have pointed out in a previous post, but your assumptions drove you to some wrong conclusions.Yeah, Bob, I’m with you. Difficult to have an honest exchange of views with someone who does so.
But the cat’s out of the bag; gen is masquerading as a “catholic”.
Word of advice, gen. If you want any sort of credibility with others i.e. wanting a discussion other than to “hear yourself talk”, be upfront. I guess most on this forum make the reasonable assumption that “catholic” means that one is identifying themself as “Catholic”.![]()
I agree deception.Religion: catholic
Deliberate deception, methinks.
Anyway, back to the originally scheduled topic.
Interesting to me that such celebs don’t come right out and endorse abortion, they support PP who does the dirty work for them. Would be very easy for them to have a forum with the media fawning all over them.
Cowards, methinks.
I disagree: no deception, just readers’ failure to observe. I have corrected that designation for your edification and enjoymentI agree deception.
On your second comment…I think many pro abortionists still know deep down that abortion is killing another human being. It is much easier for them to list what they think the good that planned parenthood does, and are able to say they support planned parenthood as a whole rather than abortion directly, to somewhat ease their conscience.
Not sure why you think anyone would get enjoyment out of you correcting it, people just don’t expect to be deceived like that.I disagree: no deception, just readers’ failure to observe. I have corrected that designation for your edification and enjoyment
I know what abortion is. I do not deny what is involved in the process. And, yes, I do believe Planned Parenthood offers some excellent services where they can be found in communities across the country. If participants on this forum choose to focus exclusively on the abortion service, that is their right. In fact, that is their choice.
