Holmes' Apostolic Fathers

Curious if anyone has a copy of Michael Holmes’ Apostolic Fathers? It’s a much more affordable introduction than buying Schaff’s complete set. It looks like a high quality book, hardcover, legible etc. Honestly a much nicer looking book than “Four Witnesses” by Rod Bennett. My main curiosity has to do with the introductions and notes that Holmes includes. No sense investing in something that would allow for a bias explanation of the Church Fathers. I’d prefer to simply let the writings speak for themselves if there will be an obvious Protestant slant, attempting to explain away subjects like Ignatius’ defense of the eucharist for example. Would anyone recommend this book?

I can’t speak for Holmes but if you’re looking for a fair presentation of the ECFs I don’t think it gets much better than Jurgens’ 3 volume set. Affordable and arranged chronologically.

I read 4 Whitnesses when I was first researching Catholcism and it didn’t appeal to me. If you want to read what these men wrote, in their own words with no commentary, Jurgens’ work should serve well.
