I just remembered that today is a holy day of obligation, the issue is is there is a mass at 5:10 but I am scheduled to work at 4:15 pm to 9pm I am not really sure what to do.

I was also wondering if skipping this mass is sin because I have work.

It isn’t a sin to miss Mass when you can’t possibly get to it. I used to be in the Merchant Navy and my priest told me not to worry that I was in a state of mortal sin for not going to Mass. He said it’s only a sin if you can get to Mass but deliberately choose not to.

In other words, you commit no sin if your duties prevent you from going to Mass.

there was also a mass at 12:10 but when I found out about it it was 12:33 and so by the time I would have gotten there they would have been serving the eucharist. and finishing up.

There’s no point worrying about it now because there’s nothing you can do. You can’t miss work because you have to fulfil the duties of your state in life. If it’s really bothering you, make an act of contrition and say an extra Rosary. You can always mention it when you next go to Confession.

It is not a sin if you have to work at the only time that you could attend Mass. It may be a venial sin that you did not know that it was a Holy Day of Obligation and failed to plan to attend another available Mass.

I concur with Dempsey - I’d almost be in they same boat if you (OP) hadn’t reminded me!
