Hi, I’ve been looking at the parish calendar and wonder if anyone can tell me if the following days are Holy Days of Obligation or (optional attendance) Feast Days? These days are printed in ALL CAPS on my calendar, but in black, not red, and I think only one may be listed as a Mass being offered in our parish, so I think these are Feast days, but not obligation days.
If there is a Mass for these, I want to attend, but I am helping a family member on a few of those days with doctor and outpatient procedures.:angel1:
Is it usually true that the Holy Days of Obligation are in RED AND ALL CAPS on the calendar, to distinguish them from other Holy Days and Feast days?
Thank you for your help. These are the days I’m wondering about. :harp:
For 2011
Dec. 26, 2011, (ST STEPHEN)
Dec. 27 (ST JOHN)
Dec. 28 (THE HOLY INNOCENTS)
DEc. 29 FIFTH DAY, OCTAVE OF CHRISTMAS, ST. THOMAS BECKETT)
Dec. 30 (THE HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSPEH)
Dec. 31 (SEVENTH DAY, OCTAVE OF CHRISTMAS) and New Year’s Eve
