I hope I don’t draw to long on this question forgive me if I do. My mother-in-law was raised in the Lutheran Church and then joined The World Wide Church of God for many years. I think that the later instilled in her a deeper division in her faith from the Catholic Church then did the Lutherans.
She has recently been attending a Lutheran service (one step at a time, right?) and is just dumbfounded by the fact that Lutherans are now making the Sign of the Cross but more dumbfounded that some of the Lutheran services are now offering Communion each Sunday! She believes that taking communion weekly makes it “to common”! I explained that we as Catholics can partake of Holy Communion each and every day and that the feeling is not “common” at all, yet brings us together in faith and love of our Lord Christ Jesus! I did tell her that it was scriptural that we should “Take His Body and Drink His Blood” OFTEN! Am I wrong in this statement?
I havent been able to find scriptural passages that indicates that the Eucharist should indeed be taken often. Can you help me please?
God Bless you this Holy Season of Lent and Easter!
