What can us Catholic respond to about the Holy Fire… how come the orthodox can do it but Catholics when they tried (I think they eventually got it going after a delay back in 1100 or Something).

Does this prove orthodoxy?

Yea I know. I saw one deep in the forums and then couldn’t find it again.

Reader’s digest of it, people think it’s true, people think it’s not true, people think once upon a time centuries ago it was true, people go there and their torches light up…

Orthodox simply means down the middle on a very straight road, compared to the heresies to the left and the right, back in the olden days of Nicea.

The Holy Fire doesn’t prove Orthodoxy as the true faith any more than Fatima proves ourselves as the true faith. Miracle hunting avails nothing. You’d be better served by studying the Early Church to determine who is holding to the faith.
