Has anyone been to Holy Land Experience in Orlando, Florida? It’s a theme park designed to be like the Jerusalem of Jesus’ time, and it’s probably easier to just post the link here so people can watch the video than for me to describe it.

My parents are going to Florida in November, and my mom found out about this place and is really interested in going. The thing is, it really seems to be Protestant-oriented rather than non-denominational, and they even get a little snippy at Catholicism in the introductory video on the home page with the robotic John Wycliffe.

Is this place worth seeing? I’d be interested in going to Holy Land Experience, but not if I have to endure subtle anti-Catholicism, which is my biggest concern.

Wow I didn’t know something like this existed for whatever reason it reminded me of my business trip to Vegas.

I am sorry I can answer if it is worth seeing as I have not been there and have a better chance of going to Jerusalem than there.😊

I thought John Wycliffe was blatantly anti-Catholic?

Faith shouldn’t be a theme park.

that place is owned by some prosperity-gospel types. (crouches & TBN)

i wouldnt give them my money.

UHM – just go to Israel instead? Might even be cheaper than a trip to FL! 😃

Chances are your parish will have a Holy Land trip planned in the near future.

My parish never went to Israel. They only seem to go to European shrines and concentration camp sites.

I posted a similar question about that park earlier today. I was advised not to go. My goodness the video made me want to puke! They actually have a “communion”?!!! Baptism?!!! Miracle Moments?!!! "Church of all Nations?! WHAT?!!!
Those people have got some gall!

I’m really struggling with this. I am being invited by my fiance because her dad lives less than 4 miles from the park. I’m Catholic but she’s “non-denominational”. The idea of that place makes me SICK but I’m trying to bring her back to the Church. Perhaps I should endure this visit for a greater good.
Thank you for posting this.
