Does anyone belong to this organisation? I’ve read about it frequently in Saints lives, but have never been very clear on what they do.

Holy Name Society members primary role is to foster reverence fof the Holy Name of Jesus. We serve the parish in various capacities from usher, EMHC, to what ever the pastor needs. Here in New Orleans we sponsor the longest running daily live radio broadcast of the rosary; since 1946. We stream the broadcast every day at 6:00pm central time or listen to a podcast at anytime at website site.Here’s the link to the New Orleans Archdiocesan Unio of Holy Name Societies.

My father and mother turned on the Holy Name Society Rosary every night at 6:00 pm and had us 4 children gather around and recite the Holy Rosary. I still carry that family tradition with my family. If we had guests, they would have to join in as well. We never missed it unless out of town. I always thank God for the Radio Rosary in New Orleans.
 
That’s a wonderful memory! I am glad to know that some of these older organizations are still active in the Church.

My parish has very active KofC and Legion of Mary chapters who do many wonderful things. I think there is still room for more though! 🙂

I recently discovered this organization to and I was inspired by it. I thought about joining but I think I am already involved in enough things. :o
