I think I read somewhere on these forums that it is improper to remove holy water from the fonts for Lent. Our church always removes the holy water for Lent.
Someone at our church said the rationale for removing the holy water is that we need to deprive ourselves for Lent. But why give up sacramentals and the graces they offer? Shouldn’t we be increasing our grace during Lent? I think it is better to give up material things to strengthen us spiritually, rather than to derprive ourselves of sacramentals that offer grace.
Is my line of thinking wrong?
