What are you planning to cook or serve this week? I’m usually travelling during Holy Week and have nothing I traditionally serve. Grocery stores are a little different right now. I sure could use some ideas.

I pretty much wing it during the week. But Good Friday we’re having fish cakes and ham is on the menu for Easter Sunday . . . and Monday . . . and Tuesday…and probably again Wednesday because ours is a two-person household and we can’t invite anyone over. But it’s been so long nice I cooked a ham that I just couldn’t resist.

Hotdogs over the firepit on one of the days because I bought some last week for that reason and didn’t do it out of sadness over forgetting to buy stuff for smores.

Picnic in the car as we drive around on Thursday trying to do a COVID friendly version of the 7 churches devotion.

The virus situation has changed my way of cooking. I now prefer to make meals that last for at least a week…Tomorrow I will make a pot of pinto beans and bake corn bread. Since my husband and I are the only ones here in our home (no children), this meal should last till Thursday, then fish on Friday, Soup on Saturday. On Sunday, I will prepare a meatloaf. The meatloaf will be the Lipton Onion Soup recipe because I don’t have any vegetables in my fridge to put in it…grocery shopping is a real challenge for me…I am now scared to go out… 😩 😭

How wonderful you are! And…thank you for your consideration…Actually I am very scared to go out…but my husband keeps telling me to calm down… 😬 we were just discussing the amount of groceries we have left, and I think we have plenty. We have several cans of soup…add rice and that is a meal! To me this is another way of “sacrificing”…which we should do…all of us. He expects more than I do. 😉
Thank you for your offer and Bless You!

Offer still stands. If you’re stuck PM me and if I am anywhere near you I will help.

Thank You! I am in the big state of Texas…but I am sorry to say I can not accept your wonderful offer…
God be with YOU!

Nowhere near you anyway then. There may be groups doing that kind of thing near you though if you need it.

Maybe so, but my husband and I are at that age that we can not afford to get the Virus.
I don’t think we would survive…I really would not want to take any chances…I want to live a few more years…God willing…"Shepherd me, O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life.

What I would hope is that you could get groceries left at your door and can open it when the delivery person is back in the van. Either through someone you know, a group offering such a service, or online shopping and delivery.

I’d recommend looking into those options before you need groceries.

Hi! I was just wondering what your COVID friendly version of the 7 churches devotion is? I am trying to do something similar with my family but I am trying to figure out what would work? Thanks 🙂

Pretty much just the family driving to the 7 nearest churches and praying inside the car in each parking lot. Once I get a little more planned out, I’ll share it here.

I found a pretty good explanation of what to do at each church as well as a printable I will probably use here. You have to scroll waaaaaaaay down to find the 7 churches devotion, but once you do it has it put very simply.

thanks! Our town has imposed a curfew, so I will probably have to resort to different adoration “livestreams” instead of driving from church to church. Useful information though!
