Today at mass the priest was discussing attendance at holy week masses.
He said he was disappointed last year that the Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil masses were poorly attended.

Every year we go to the thurs and fri mass, but we don’t go to BOTH the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday mass.
We go to one or the other.

Are we supposed to go to the vigil AND Easter Sunday also?

The kids are waiting breathlessly for an answer 😉

Neither…it is 7 days…it is the time span between Palm/Passion Sunday and Easter Sunday.

Holy Week is the week which precedes the great festival of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday, and which consequently is used to commemorate the Passion of Christ, and the event which immediately led up to it. In Latin is it called hebdomada major, or, less commonly, hebdomada sancta, styling it he hagia kai megale ebdomas. Similarly, in most modern languages (except for the German word Charwoche, which seems to mean “the week of lamentation”) the interval between Palm Sunday and Easter Day is known par excellence as Holy Week

You can go to the vigil and Sunday Masses if you like. But you fulfill your obligation with either. It’s an extra if you go to Mass everyday in Holy week. An effort should be made at this time. But you only have to attend one of those Masses to fulfill the laws of the Church.

Is there an indulgence if you go to Mass every day during Holy Week?

is greedy

If you go to Mass at least 5 days in a week. And fulfill all the other requirements you can get an indulgence every day. Same for every week.
