ah alright, thank you all. That’s a relief. We’ll talk to the priest. But you don’t think that conditional baptism would be required do you?

it there is no proof, and no living witnesses who can testify to the baptism, then yes a conditional baptism might be done. See the priest, no way to discuss these hypothetical cases here, each situation is unique and there are many variables to consider. The Orthodox also have laws on how to proceed and they should be followed.

my reason for wanting a home baptisim is that currently our priest has combined two churches against the wishes of the congregation. he has messed up a great school and forbids our monsignor that has retired to perform weddings and baptisims. The new priest is not liked at all and had made rash decisions regardless of what the parish thinks is a good idea. many people have left and the school went from having 1000 students to about 300. it is sad what he is doing to the church i grew up in and went to school to. So i asked the monsignor if he was able to baptise my 7 month old privately since the new priest will only do it during a mass infront of everyone. i believe that its a family affair and i don’t want the whole mass to be there, but i feel i should be able to have what priest i want too perform the ceremony regarless of what the head priest says. hes doing this because every one wants monsignor to perform stuff and not the new priest. well i wonder why.
