Browsing through the television stations the other day, I happened to catch an evangelical pastor, who claims to be an ordained bishop, by the name of Perry Stone. He was speaking about the importance of recieving communion, (bread and grape juice), daily at your home. Then he went on to offer home communion kits that can be ordered for $39.95! I almost fell off my chair! Has anyone else seen this?

He’s free to use the term “Communion”, but it is just bread and grape juice. What he’s selling certainly isn’t the Body and Blood of Christ.

I found this on his website…“Perry also holds the rank of an ordained bishop with the Church of God, (Cleveland, Tennessee).”

According to his bio, he;s got some pretty good credentials. He’s also building a 45,000 sq. ft. assembly building, so apparently he has a substantial following.

Personally, I can’t respect someone who does evangelism as a buisness. That ain’t what it’s about, in my view.

I wonder if he’ll go the way of Jim Baker http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon9.gif & Jimmy Swaggert http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon9.gif , or Pat Robertson http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon7.gif
