I would like to do something from home to earn extra money. I do not want to do sales or that type of thing, please don’t “go there”.
What did mom’s do to earn money from home before all these direct sales companies and such?

I want to live a quiet life and work with my hands. I’d like to be of service to others. I don’t want to feed into commericalism or materialism, but instead focus on real needs. I know this limits things a lot, but there must be something I could do to earn money. I’ve thought of ironing for others…Any other ideas?

my wife has been wondering the same thing…sorry I can’t be any help.

How about sell stuff on ebay??? hehehe

One of my neighbors has a very lucrative business baby sitting children six years and older. During a conversation with her she mentioned that he money she has made goes towards the mortgage of their house. It is practically paid off - just a few more years to go. She did take the proper license to run this business from her home.

My mother does the same thing. Not only does it pay well, but she truly feels fulfilled. She loves those kids, and they love her.

I don’t know what sort of community you live in. If it’s a small community, and you are good at baking or cooking, there may be a need for something like fancy cake decorating for weddings, or special occasions. The only option we have here is the local grocery store which isn’t that great.

Perhaps you could run a sewing/altering/mending service.

Perhaps you could advertise your sewing services for fancy special occasions, like First Communion dresses, prom gowns or wedding dresses.

These are things that interest me as well, but with soon-to-be three little ones ages 3 and under, it’s just not feasible right now for my attention to be elsewhere.

Good luck to you.

Why not get envolved with a company like Discovery Toys… Your kids will love all the extra toys.🙂

Well, my wife and I are involved in the “direct sales industry”, or multi-level marketing, whatever you want to call it. We love it. If that’s not your bag, you can work from home as a transcriptionist or stuff envelopes. Try starting an eBay business, they’ll even show you how. I’d suggest you get the book Rich Dad’s Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki.

Who cares about “feeding into materialism”. The Church is very cool with people prospering financially, there is no sin in being successful. The Church encourages it, as long as you don’t do it at the expense of your relationship with God.
