What, exactly, is allowed in a homily during mass?
I’ve heard some people say that it is only reflection on the scripture readings from that day that is allowed. Catechizing should take place outside of Mass.
Then I’ve heard other say that this is fals, and that Priests CAN catechize or talk about whatever he feels his flock needs to hear, no matter what the readings are.
Which one of these is true? Can anyone document a source for me?
