Do Eastern Catholic, Orthodox, etc. Divine Liturgies have a homily?

It does not always occur, but when it does it follows the Gospel reading. Later at the dismissal, the priest may make some other comments or announcements.

I have seen it occur at the dismissal in both Byzantine Catholic and Orthodox Churches. It is traditional and perfectly legitimate to do so. I can’t remember exactly which one, but I remember seeing in a Ruthenian liturgical publication a note that said, “The homily may be given here or just prior to the dismissal.” My pastor has also mentioned that just prior to the dismissal is the traditional place for the homily.

It is also sometimes said after the dismissal.

I’ve seen it done in some Syriac Orthodox parishes immediately before communion.

If one looks at the Maronite missal pre-2005 adaptation to the novus ordo, it seems like a homily breaks the flow of the liturgy if it is after the gospel because the diaconal proclamation themed to the celebration occurs after the gospel (in fact in one Italian commentary I’ve read it calls the diaconal proclamation “omelia o meglio prima omelia” - homily, or better, the first homily).
