In CCC 2357, it states that homosexual acts “do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity.” Now, I understand the part about sexual complementarity, i.e., the respective parts of the man and the woman are different and “work together,” but what is meant by affective complementarity?

I think the CCC is referring to the psychological difference between the sexes, the man’s manliness offers something to the woman that she lacks, and she likewise softens him up with her femininity, her nurturing.
